Rebecca Cush, CCMA

Medical Assistant / Biological Coordinator / Sofwave Technician

Hey! I am Rebecca, and I am a medical assistant with over 20 years of experience and ten years of experience working in dermatology and skin surgery. I am licensed as a clinical medical assistant with the National Healthcare Association. I am passionate about dermatology and skin cancer prevention, and I never leave the house without sunscreen. I take pride in caring for my patients with compassion and empathy while ensuring they are educated in skin cancer prevention. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to New Bern, North Carolina, in 2005. In my free time, I enjoy working in the yard, taking my dog, Goose, on walks, and hiking, as we love being outdoors. I also love to travel and enjoy visiting and exploring new wineries as a wine connoisseur. My biggest passion will always be Pittsburgh sports, I'm a diehard Steelers fan.

Brittany Self, RMA

Medical Assistant

Hello! I'm Brittany Self, a passionate healthcare professional with a diverse background and a love for adventure. I'm just a few short classes away from completing my Bachelor's in Biology, complementing my Associate's in Nursing. With 16 years of experience in Dermatology, I've specialized in Mohs micrographic surgeries as a histology tech, delving deep into the intricacies of skin health. I obtained my Associate's Degree at Copper Mountain, CA, and my Bachelor's degree at American Public University in Charles Town, West Virginia. I completed my Histology training at ECU in Greenville, NC.

Beyond the confines of the medical world, I find joy and rejuvenation in various outdoor pursuits. Whether it's the adrenaline rush of weight training, the tranquility of horseback riding, the thrill of fossil hunting, the awe-inspiring depths of scuba diving, or the excitement of metal detecting, I thrive on exploring nature's wonders. I care for animals and wildlife as much as I do my patients, and when I am not helping my patients with their dermatologic needs, you can find me caring for the wildlife in need.
